Frequently Asked Questions

Are the online classes live or pre-recorded?
My online classes are pre-recorded and streamed via my website. This means you can watch them as many times as you need to and at a time suitable for you. Kerry’s Bouqcakes does not offer any live online classes as we feel it is more beneficial to the student to follow a professionally filmed class that they can re-watch as required. You can pause and rewind the classes where needed and learn at your own pace.

How do I pay if I am not in the UK
All payments go through the PayPal Checkout. If you do not have a PayPal account you can select the option to pay as a PayPal guest and then you can pay by debit or credit card. PayPal makes the conversion into your own currency during the payment process and you will know the amount before you have to commit to any payment. This can vary as this is based on that day’s exchange rate to your currency from £(GBP).

How do I access the courses once they have been purchased

Do you have subtitles on the online courses?
My online classes are in English and they do not have any subtitles for any other languages. You can however learn a lot visually if English is not your first language.

Can anyone pipe buttercream flowers or are the classes only for professional bakers
Yes, my classes are for everyone. Many of my students are hobby bakers who love to bake for friends and family or just for fun. I have taught many beginners who have never even picked up a piping bag. With the right tuition from me you can achieve beautiful buttercream flowers to be proud of and it won’t take you months or even weeks to get there. Of course, practice makes perfect but you will be amazed what you can achieve when shown how. My online classes are professionally filmed in easy to follow steps that anyone can follow. I also have more advanced classes for those that wish to progress their piping skill. Many students have gone on to open their own cake businesses.

What equipment do I need and do I need to purchase this in advance of my class purchase
Each online class comes with a free downloadable equipment list, buttercream and cupcake recipe. You will need some inexpensive piping tips (these will vary depending on the class you purchase) but the Beginners Class uses mainly Wilton Nozzles and two Russian tips and some strong piping bags. You will need a few good quality food colourings. My Beginners class includes my buttercream demonstration and some useful tips.
To make the cupcakes and buttercream you will need either a handheld electric mixer or a stand mixer.

Do you teach your Buttercream recipe.
My buttercream demonstration is included on my Beginners class which is also included in the Starter Bundle.
If you only want the buttercream demonstration and no flower piping content then check out my buttercream and top tips course.

Where can I purchase equipment from
There are various cake decorating supplies but this will depend where you live. I have attached a few suggestions below;
Vanilla Valley
The Cake Decorating Company
Sugar and Crumbs
Country Kitchen SweetArt (USA)
The Cake Craft Company
Amazon
eBay
Blooming Lovely Cupcakes

Do you ship your cupcakes
My cupcakes are too delicate to ship but I have many online students who I have taught across the world so you may find someone local to your area.

What happens if I need extra help or support
My students gain free access to my Facebook VIP Cake Community which is an exclusive group for my students. This friendly global community includes lots of extra help, advice and support from me and fellow pipers. This friendly group has thousands of members and is a great way to connect with fellow students from your country and globally.
