End of Summer and Back to School
I have mixed feelings about this time of year. We really have had the best summer. I mean the weather here in the UK has not been the best but we have had a ball. Both myself and my husband have kept work to a minimum through the school summer holidays. It’s been lovely to be out of routine and not have my brain exploding with so much to think about. We have enjoyed a summer of leisurely mornings, getting dressed late, long days out without a care in the world and late nights sipping glasses of wine. We have enjoyed the lack of any kind of routine or commitments, each day relaxed and unscheduled.

Real Life
I love my cake craft and enjoy making and designing my cupcakes. It always gives me a little buzz when I have finished a cupcake bouquet or a box of tasty cupcakes. There is always that little touch of anxiety before collection that this is not what the person visualised when they placed the order. I am not a career driven person but I do set myself extremely high standards and it is only natural that I want customers to be happy.
I started my business so I could be a “working from home Mum”. I wanted to spend more time with my children whilst they were young enough to still want me around. I had the ideal image in my head of being the perfect Mum as well as having a successful career. Well, we all know that 2 + 2 in terms of real life normally equals 5 when you have young children.

A Walk On The Wild Side
I am often asked where I get my cupcake flower and colour inspiration from.
If you had asked me in my teens, I would never have admitted that I was a country girl at heart. As a child my parents dragged me down country lanes, up hills and down dales, holidays were spent under canvas and moonlit sky ; no TV, just making friends with other young campers and amusing ourselves building dens out of twigs and cut grass etc. My sister and I could often be found with paper, glue and various flowers, leaves, twigs and shells making masterpieces (well at least to us they were) for our parents. I never fully appreciated it at the time but am so grateful now for the experiences and want to pass this love of nature on to my children. Looking back now I can see this was the cornerstone for my love of flowers and subsequently the inspiration for my business.
