Little Acts of Kindness
When I wrote my blog, a year ago, concentrating on mental health (link to 2019 Health blog) I had no idea what lay ahead of us. What an unexpected year we have had, with the pandemic and economic struggles resulting from it, even the strongest of people are feeling weary and fatigued.
But I want to celebrate the successes we have had this year rather than dwell on the difficulties.
When the world closed-down we were all looking for new outlets to fill our days. I am so pleased so many of you decided to follow my lead and start on a journey of buttercream piping to fill some of your time. I have been so impressed with all the cupcake flowers you have made. I look at the work produced and posted on my VIP Cake Community and feel such joy at the accomplishments. So proud of you all and what you have achieved and the kindnesses you have shown to others on their journey.Read More

Kerry’s Bouqcakes features in Vogue Paris
Over the years that I have been running Kerry’s Bouqcakes, I have been incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to feature in various cake, craft, wedding and fashion magazines. I have written articles on my business or been interviewed in a Q&A style piece. It still feels so surreal when I see my work printed either in hard copy or posted online. I’m really a one-woman band and don’t have a huge team behind me like a lot of other cake businesses that get mentioned in magazines do. I mean don’t get me wrong I have my absolutely wonderful family around me encouraging me and helping out in various areas of the business. Luckily my Mum has good IT skills so I don’t have to worry about the website as she has that in hand along with my web host. My hubby helps me with making up cake boxes not to mention childcare. You will have heard me mention Chloe who is part-time but invaluable and does some of my Marketing and Admin. However, the daily management is all on my shoulders!Read More
Talking to your children : Coronavirus #stopthespread
You will find that this is a slightly different blog from my norm but I felt I wanted to discuss this topic in some way or another. As I have already mentioned before across my social media channels, we are currently living in extremely difficult and unprecedented times, taking not only each day as it comes but each hour. Society is having to adapt like never before due to the coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic, whether that be working from home rather than going in to the office every day, staying indoors when we’re used to going out and about, staying away from our loved family members and friends or trying our very best to home-school our little ones.Read More

This week I’m celebrating my business birthday, three years since the beginning of Kerry’s Bouqcakes and to help celebrate this milestone I’ve added a flash SALE to my website! If you’d told me when I started this business that I’d have over 200,000 followers from around the world across my social media channels I don’t think I would have believed you! Then again, I definitely wouldn’t have believed if you’d told me that Kerry’s Bouqcakes would be celebrating its third year of business in the middle of a global pandemic, with me temporarily closing my order books.Read More
Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring the Mother of the family, or Mother figure, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of Mothers in society. In many parts of the world it would usually be celebrated this Sunday, 22nd March. Presents with ‘World’s Best Mummy’ would be exchanged and my cupcakes gifted as a yummy twist on traditional flowers. This year will be a Mother’s Day like no other, as scores of people self isolate and are forced to rethink plans with loved ones which to be honest with you, totally sucks!Read More
