One MILLION followers and a happy heart

In 2017 I went back to the day job following my maternity leave. At the same time, I started a little “sideline” making cupcakes. To begin with I was selling to friends, family and work colleagues but I still remember the day I got a phone call from a total stranger wanting to place an order. It felt huge and I still remember the buzz I felt to get that first customer order that had no connection to me personally. After this I had a gradual increase of orders each month and it felt amazing to be bringing in some extra income for my family. The positive feedback spurred me on and made me want to push my fledgling business even harder. I had found something I truly enjoyed, something I felt so very passionate about and it seemed that everyone loved what I was producing. This said I could have never predicted where my journey would take me!
Now let’s fast forward to today! Today I hit 1 million followers on Instagram. This feels huge. It feels beyond huge. Never in a million years did I think that one million people would be following ME and my cupcake journey. My journey has been organic, it’s had ups and downs and times where perhaps I have pushed myself too hard. It’s been an incredible journey and one that I am so incredibly proud of. It’s my story and I have learnt so much along the way, both personally and professionally.
7 years into my journey, my passion continues to lead me on to new and exciting ideas but still based around my core business. I do need to learn to switch off though! I regularly mention the importance of work life balance and that’s as true today as it was in the beginning.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to every one of you who made the decision to follow my journey. As a self-taught floral cupcake artist, every single petal, leaf and stamen pictured on my social media pages are designed and hand piped by me. I absolutely love what I do and you have encouraged me on my journey with all your positive comments. I feel overwhelmed sometimes by the love, support and the unfailing encouragement I receive from my amazing communities on all my social media platforms. Thank you again. Life is good and my heart is happy. Kerry xx
