You may know me best for creating beautiful buttercream floral cupcakes but did you know I also absolutely love to teach others the skill of floral piping? I have a whole plethora of online tutorials, suitable for all skill levels and also offer (outside of lockdowns!) private courses and group workshops at my location in the stunning Norfolk countryside.
When a customer purchases one of my online tutorials which are available internationally via this website, they are not just purchasing a course but gaining access to a VIP community of my students who are a constant ongoing support for one another. The community is full of positivity, hints and tips and it got me thinking about how I can help celebrate this talent and involve my amazing students more and hey presto “Student Spotlight” was created!Read More
Kerry’s Bouqcakes Fourth Birthday
Here we are again, another Kerry’s Bouqcakes birthday. Four years ago I started my business and I am still amazed how quickly each year has gone. Celebrating my business birthday is one of those positive milestones that keeps a smile on my face and makes me proud. It gives me a chance to reflect on the time and remember all of the opportunities and achievements that have come my way. I feel very fortunate for every opportunity I have had, but am equally proud of the hard work I have dedicated to make them happen.
As a business owner I spend a lot of time looking forward, planning new and original ways to push my business forward but today I want to reflect on what has made Kerry’s Bouqcakes a success to date and hopefully inspire you too.Read More
Introducing Box Your Bouqcakes
As with most small businesses they tend to begin because a need is recognised. And that is exactly why our sister business ‘Box Your Bouqcakes’ was created.Read More
I will start by introducing my husband. You may have read about Brett in previous blogs as he is my rock. I think he got so fed up of me complaining about the lack of suitably sized and quality boxes I needed for my cupcake bouquets that he set about doing something about it. I am the creative side of Kerry’s Bouqcakes whereas Brett is the finance and mathematical wizard. So, with paper, card and a ruler he set about designing boxes that were bespoke for my business. He established a contact with a box maker and sent them the prototype box. A few tweaks later and “Hey Presto” a bouqcake box was born. Not one box but two. (we don’t do anything by halves!!) More sizes are also about to go on sale too for the larger bouqcakes.

Kerry’s Bouqcakes features in Vogue Paris
Over the years that I have been running Kerry’s Bouqcakes, I have been incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to feature in various cake, craft, wedding and fashion magazines. I have written articles on my business or been interviewed in a Q&A style piece. It still feels so surreal when I see my work printed either in hard copy or posted online. I’m really a one-woman band and don’t have a huge team behind me like a lot of other cake businesses that get mentioned in magazines do. I mean don’t get me wrong I have my absolutely wonderful family around me encouraging me and helping out in various areas of the business. Luckily my Mum has good IT skills so I don’t have to worry about the website as she has that in hand along with my web host. My hubby helps me with making up cake boxes not to mention childcare. You will have heard me mention Chloe who is part-time but invaluable and does some of my Marketing and Admin. However, the daily management is all on my shoulders!Read More
